Dark Unity Demo

Here´s another small update. A couple of concepts ( see the other in the concepts gallery) which were made in context with the demo Unity3d hired us to do. This demo was meant to show some of the capabilities of the 3rd installment of their engine (a really great tool for game developers!). The demo was a realtime demo, but I did a couple of quick paint concepts before we started making the actual demo. You can see a video of the final demo here.

Mikael helped with the sketch work for these.

Btw, me and my colleague (Voja Dimitrijevic) are holding a conference speech at the Unity Conference in Montreal 11th of November.

A cutie anime character.

Hello again folks. Just a little character this time. I think this must be my very first "serious" attempt at making an anime character ( so you anime lovers out there probably see a bunch of noob mistakes :) ) This was just a friendly gesture to a friend, he is leading a small-girls football team and they wanted a logo-mascot on their shirt. Of course their name was The Vampires :) -So I thought this would fit nicely. Go here to see the full character.

Just a little something...

It´s slow with updates at the moment, that I am sorry for. I´m dead busy working on the completion of Battlestar Galactica. Anyway, here´s a ultra clean scene I just dug up, which I did about a year a go. Made for PoBros, mostly for the fun of it and for trying to approach different art which I´m not used to make.

Back from Holiday

Hey all, I'm from from 2 hot weeks in Greece. It's always nice with some time off, but just as good to get back to regular life.

I just added a few "oldies" from Sony Computer Entertainment (go down to 2008 additions to have a look). Concept Art for something that was abandonned short after the concepts were made. A couple of them were made together with Mikael and Chester.

If anyone at SCEI has a problem of these being displayed, contact me and they will be pulled down.

Some Environment scribbles

Hello again, just wanted to make another weekly update :)
These are 4 sketches of some scenes that I thought would be suitable to post now because of the summer being here :) - for something that never turned out into anything. They were intended to look a bit 60´s detective book illustrations. It was fin trying something different. Hope you like it.
You can find 3 more in the Environments section

Avatar Video Speedpaint

Hello, as I mentioned on my previous post, I was going to have some fun recording myself painting. So, yeah, I made my first YouTube video!
My kid was nagging for attention, the camera was rolling and I tried my best to focus on the painting, what a stressful feeling. But atleast I managed to make something :D

Funny thing though is that I spent 10 times as much time trying to get it onto YouTube with proper video settings, I guess I must be stupid or something, since the whole world just dumps stuff into YouTube with no problems at all.
I chose a rather non-original motif. I thought, if I'm going to make a video, it should be of something that appeals to non-art-geeks as well. I loved the movie Avatar of course, so why not do something inspired by that. I was surprised, but it should have been obvious, that there's already a thousand videos on YouTube doing the exact same thing. Oh, well, at least I tried to build up my painting in a proper way, not just sit and detail a traced sketch straight off a still-image from the film, like all the others do.
It took me about 15 minutes to paint this. If anyone find it entertaining I might make another...we'll see how the hits go, make sure to spread it out to friends and people!

It´s that time again...

Added another environment I did a while back. Check it in the Environments gallery.
At the moment I´m working on a some speed paint videos, I though that could be a fun replacement for my old tutorials which I won´t revive again - they are way out of date :) Anyway, we´ll see how it goes, maybe it will be my next update? :)
Until next time, take care.
